TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The terms of this contract are to protect the Buyer and the Seller. Upon possession of the above specified Puppy, and in and for the receipt of the said Purchase Price, the Breeder/Seller and Owner/Buyer agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
Every effort is made by Heartland Goldens and Mini Goldendoodles, LLC (hereto in referred to as “HLGMGD”) to ensure that your puppy is delivered in a healthy sound condition. Your puppy has been health checked by a Licensed Veterinarian, as evidenced by a current Health Certificate.
Buyer Responsibilities:
Buyer agrees to provide puppy with the necessary preventative care, such as, but no limited to: veterinarian guidelines for vaccinations, de-worming and other related required medical care. Buyer/Owner is aware that owning a puppy means trips to the veterinarian and understands that he/she will be responsible for all payments.
“Puppy must not receive a vaccination within seven (7) days of arriving at its new home.” Becoming part of a new home and environment can cause added undo stress to a puppy. Vaccinations must be no less than three weeks apart and no more than four weeks apart for a series of three (3). Rabies vaccines cannot be administered before twelve (12) weeks of age, or as per your applicable State requirements.
During initial week, failure to keep your new puppy on the same type of food could result in diarrhea, loss of appetite, hypoglycemic attacks (low blood sugar) or a combination of these symptoms. The puppy must be kept in a trim weight – appropriate to its size and age – especially avoiding obesity. If the dog is found to be obese, the Contract is null and void.
The puppy is not allowed to jump up or down from places higher than its shoulder, or made to jog/run un-naturally up until eighteen (18) months of age. These conditions have been shown to bring about joint damage to puppies still growing when their tender joints are most susceptible to damage.
Pet Insurance: Unforeseen medical events can arise. It is for this reason, HLGMGD highly recommends pet insurance. There are many companies that offer pet insurance and we recommend you research and select one that is best for you and your new puppy.
Breeder Responsibilities and Health Guarantee:
As of the date of delivery, your puppy has received proper vaccinations and worming. A detailed health record is included in your Puppy Packet and should be shared with your veterinarian. Please make sure that your veterinarian does NOT give a vaccination that has already been given.
Health Guarantee Against Genetic Defects: This puppy is guaranteed until two (2) years of age against fatal congenital disease which adversely affects the health of the animal. This includes kidney, heart, pancreas, spine, and liver problems of a severe life threatening nature. If the puppy should develop any hereditary characteristics, such as crippling hip dysplasia, hereditary heart or eye conditions, before two (2) years of age, that will affect the puppy’s life or physical abilities, HLGMGD will replace the puppy as soon as possible, (a replacement puppy may not be available until our next planned litter). If such a problem should arise, HLGMGD requires that the Buyer/Owner takes the puppy to a board certified veterinarian for a diagnosis. If it is found that the puppy does indeed have a life altering genetic disorder, a second opinion is required for the final diagnosis.
A puppy with a defect must be returned to HLGMGD to qualify for a replacement puppy. A replacement puppy will be mutually agreed upon by both parties and will be of comparable quality. It is understood that the replacement puppy may not be from the exact same parents of the original puppy.
A returned puppy must be returned to HLGMGD in good condition, other than the specified problem, at the buyer’s expense. The Buyer/Owner will then qualify for a replacement puppy. Buyer/Owner is responsible for transportation costs to and from HLGMGD on a replacement puppy. HLGMGD will not pay or be responsible for any veterinarian bills. The guarantee applies to the original puppy purchaser only and is non-transferable to a second party. This puppy must not be re-sold to any owner, agent or individual connected with a pet shop or wholesaler of pure-bred dogs in the United States or any other foreign country.
Puppies commonly have benign heart murmurs, which disappear by roughly 6 months of age. These puppy murmurs typically are not cause for concern and are not covered.
Physical problems that are or could be the result of injury, abuse, neglect, or if the Buyer/Owner fails to complete vaccinations and puppy checks by a qualified Veterinarian, are not covered under this guarantee.
NO replacement puppy will be covered under this guarantee if the puppy has sired or whelped one or more pups.
In the unfortunate event the puppy dies within the two (2) year guaranteed time frame, the Buyer/Owner will pay to have it autopsied by a licensed veterinarian to ascertain reason(s). If the is determined to be congenital, HLGMGD will replace the puppy. All veterinarian findings must be submitted and signed by a licensed Veterinarian and submitted on the Veterinarian’s letterhead.
Proof of said preventative care and health must be furnished upon request to HLGMGD.
All items covered under this guarantee are by replacement ONLY. HLGMGD does NOT give refunds. HLGMGD is not responsible for any medical expenses incurred.
HLGMGD cannot guarantee adult size, color or temperament. While we do our best to give an accurate adult weight, there is absolutely NO GUARANTEE that the puppy will be the estimated size, or color. Coats and color may change.
No guarantee is given for any kind of worm, coccidia, or giardia. These parasites are all too common to puppies and can be contracted from your soil, other dogs or boarding facility. Your puppy has been wormed frequently from two (2) weeks of age until your possession. It is your responsibility to continue to worm your puppy and check for parasites.
There are certain disorders that may be caused by environmental factors, for example: allergies, thyroid dysfunction, demodectic mange, and other autoimmune disorders that are not covered by this guarantee.
If the Buyer/Owner should decide for any reason, at any time during the life of the dog, not to keep the above mentioned dog, he or she is to notify HLGMGD. We will gladly assist with re-homing the dog.
